Just passing through [26 Mar 2009|11:55pm]

broken_skai
[ mood | optimistic ]

Hello all! Not sure how active this community is, but I was just passing through and  thought I'd join up for a while. I have and continue to have spiritual experiences with the Lord daily... I've had the occasional battle as well. Were it not for the Lord I probably wouldn't be here right now. So I thought I'd drop in for a while and share a few experiences with this community and see what happens....

[16 Jan 2007|10:11am]

liana_ashley

so, i've realized alot lately. i've realized how much i used to be in love with God...and how 'tight' we used to be. now, its changed.
...i want that back so bad.
its going to take me awhile to get back to where i was with Him, but i know i can do it. if God knows i'm willing He's right there waiting with open arms. :) and that makes me smile.
i want to be the role model i used to be. i used to be someone who was looked up to as the 'perfect christian', even though i knew i wasn't perfect, i was still considered strong, and people recognized that. i want that back too.
i'm going to put my relationship with God first again. for awhile its been in the back.  i need to allow God to be 'front and center.' :) its going to be hard, but i'm going to have to make my relationship with God more important than the one with my boyfriend...which is the way it shouldve been; and for a little bit of time...it was.
i've fallen away from who i used to be. and i figured it was because 'everyone changes'...i did a complete 360 turnaround.
thankfully, i know i still have God, and of course my best friend//boyfriend to help me through all of this.
and hopefully, in the end, both me and houston will come out of this stronger.
i'm praying.
and, please pray for me.
its going to be a bumpy ride....

Curses of Iniquity [08 Jul 2006|12:01pm]

fayth1978
I've been reading Spiritual Warfare by Richard Ing. I wanted to pass this information on to the rest of you:

Curses of Iniquity

6 And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.” - Exodus 34:6-7

The same is found in Exodus 20:5 and repeated in Deut. 5:9 and Numbers 14:18.

Very few families possess "clean" ancestries, untainted by any occultic involvement or idolatry. One sin in particular, illegitimacy, brings curses even unto the tenth generation (Deut. 23:2). Many saints suffer torment, misfortune, accidents, and poverty without knowing why. This includes practicing Christians who love God, tithe on a regular basis, read their Bibles daily, and attend church three times a week. Yet they unknowingly live under a curse sent down the generations. Many are tormented by occultic spirits because their ancestors praciced witchcraft, fortune-telling, or other occultic activity. Listed below are fifty-nine curses.

Biblical Curses

Sins bring curses. "The curse causeless shall not come" (Proverbs 26.2). We are discussing curses which have been pronounced by God not hexes that come from witches and other people.

1. Those who curse or mistreat Jews (Gen. 12:3, Num. 24:9)
2. Against willing deceivers (Josh 9:22-23; Jer. 48:10; Mal. 1:14; Gen. 27:12)
3. On adulterous women (Num 5:27)
4. Disobedience to the Lord's commandments (Deut. 11:28; Dan. 9:11; Jer. 11:3)
5. Idolatry (Jer. 44:8; Daut. 29:18-20; Exod. 20:5; Deut 5:8-9)
6. Those who keep or own cursed objects (Deut. 7:25; Josh. 6:18)
7. Refusing to come to the Lord's help (Judg. 5:23)
8. House of the wicked (Prov. 3:33)
9. Refusing to give to the poor (Prov. 28:27)
10. The earth, because of man's disobedience (Isa. 24:3-6)
11. Jerusalem is a curse to all nations if Jews rebel against God (Jer. 26:4-6)
12. Thieves and those who swear falsely by the Lord's name (Zech. 5:4)
13. MInisters who fail to give the glory to God (Mal. 2:1-2)
14. Those who rob God of tithes and offerings (Mal. 3:8-9)
15. Those who hearken unto their wives rather than God (Gen 3:17)
16. Those who dishonour their parents (Deut. 27:16)
17. Those who create graven images (Deut. 27:15)
18. Those who willfully cheat people out of their properties (Deut. 27:17)
19. Those who take advantage of blind people (Deut. 27:18)
20. Those who oppress strangers, widows, or fatherless (Deut. 27:19; Exod. 22:22-24)
21. He who lies with his father's wife (Deut. 27:20)
22. He who lies with any beast (Deut. 27:21; Exod. 22:19)
23. He who lies with his sister (incest) (Deut. 27:22)
24. Those who smite their neighbours secretly (Deut. 27:24)
25. Those who take money to slay the innocent (Deut. 27:25) Is this referring to abortionists and those who practice euthanasia? - ERiN
26. Adulterers (Deut. 22:22-27; Job 24:15-18)
27. The proud (Ps. 119:21)
28. Those who trust in man and not the Lord (Jer. 17:5)
29. Those who do the work of the Lord deceitfully (Jer. 48:10)
30. Those who keep back the sword from blood (Jer. 48:10; 1 Kings 20:35-42)
31. Those who reward evil for good (Prov. 17:13)
32. Illegitimate children (for 10 generations) (Deut. 23:2)

40. Witchcraft practitioners (Exod. 22:18)
41. Those who sacrifice to fake gods (Exod. 22:20)
42. Those who attempt to turn anyone away from the Lord (Deut. 13:6-18)
43. Those who follow horoscopes (astrology) (Deut. 17:2-5)
44. Those who rebel against pastors and leaders (Deut. 17:12)
45. False prophets (Deut. 18:19-22)
46. Women who keep not their virginity until they are married (Deut. 22:13-21)
47. Parents who do not discipline their children, but honour them above God (1 Sam. 2:27-36)
48. Those who curse their rulers (Exod. 22:28; 1 Kings 2:8-9)
49. Those who teach rebellion against the Lord (Jer. 28:16-17)
50. Those who refuse to warn sinners (Ezek. 3:18-21)
51. Those who defile the Sabbath (Exod. 31:14; Num. 15:32-36)
52. Those who sacrifice human beings (Lev. 20:2)
53. Participants in seances and fortune-telling (Lev. 20:6)
54. Those involved in homosexual and lesbian relationships (Lev. 20:13)
55. Necromancers and fortune-tellers (Lev. 20:27)
56. Those who blaspheme the Lord's name (Lev. 24:15-16)
57. Those who are carnally minded (Rom. 8:6)
58. Those who practice sodomy (Gen. 19:5-15, 24-25)
59. Rebellious children (Deut. 21:18-21)

Sin leads to curses. Accordingly, if a person continues to live in sin, deliverance will either not be possible, or happen only temporarily.

Before Jesus died on the cross for us, curses could not be broken.

[ mood | enlightened &grateful ]

This evening, I had my first encounter with speaking God's words with his fire through my mouth:) I've always been shy to speak up on His words &message, but as of today this will all go away.
I've been praying about it for some time, &tonight he showed me that I can be His servant &do as I have been trying to do: spread His golden words!

I feel so light, so free! I am so grateful of my Father for giving me so much!

But with this light, feathery, floaty feeling. I also feel a tad vulnerable in terms of the future in my life on earth. I know that with all rewards comes some sort of tribulation &vice versa.

How dooes one go about rebuking the feeling of vulnerability? Reading the Bible? Holding a certain thought? In the past demons have used my family &friends against me after I've done an act of obedience in the name of our Father.

I would love to hear words of encouragement! But as of now, I will continue with my prayer.

Spiritual excercise of St. Ignatius [21 Feb 2006|10:37am]

lynzabeth
For all those who don't know, an Ignatian retreat is one that follows the Spiritual Excercises of St. Ignatius (which are seriously awesome and intense!). The way that Ignatius devised them, it's supposed to take at least a month (although his original excercises took him 10 months). They are meant to be done in silence if at all possible, but the lay person can do them during the regular work day as well, it's just tougher.

I spent 3 days in complete silence, except for response and songs in church. I thought i'd put down some of the stuff that one of the priest's said that i thought might be pertinent to this group. hope you enjoy!

ps. this is an awesome community! I hope to see it grow a lot!
notes behind cut cause they got longCollapse )

Ok, that's a lot for now. Maybe I'll post more later, if you guys want me too. I really enjoyed this retreat. EVERYONE should go on an Ignatian Retreat! I wish i could make the whole thirty days instead of just 3! Let me know what you guys think.

God Bless!

St. Michael the Archangel, Read more...Collapse )

a shorter prayer for his protection:

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May GOD rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, oh prince of the heavenly hosts, cast into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Renouncing. [16 Feb 2006|10:23pm]

cha_mel_eon
A good weapon against evil is renouncing. I find it helps to keep a good state of mental health.

The devil can use even the smallest bad feelings to start chipping down our armour.

I renounce anything that is making me feel bad {ie. rejection, guilt, fear, humiliation} even in the smallest measures. Anyone will know, even something as minute as someone giving us a dirty look can be dwelled on for days. This helps to forget about these unhelpful feelings, and on to more positive thoughts, which are best for fighting with!

All I say is:

"I renounce the feeling of ____ . In the name of Jesus I break this tie!"

You can be more meticulous if you want, obviously.

Hope this helps! It definately helps me!

Angel Stories [04 Feb 2006|06:41am]

fayth1978
A young man my mom works with at the hospital lost his wife in a horrible car accident. The man is a strong Christian, as was his wife. She had grown up in a very devout Christian household and deeply loved God. Now the Word of God says this about angels:

Psalm 34:7
"The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them."

Hebrews 1:14
"Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? "

An amazing thing happened on the day of this young woman's death. Apparently, two people were driving down the same road on the day she was killed. They drove slowly past her car, which had just crashed, and looked in. They saw this woman in the driver's seat being cradled in the arms of a man, with a yellow blanket wrapped around her. The witnesses pulled over, jumped out of their car, and ran over to the dead woman's vehicle. When they got there they realized that the car was empty; not only that, but the driver's side had been completely disintegrated - the young woman had actually been thrown through the windshield.

Who was the man who had been cradling the woman in the driver's seat? And how could he have been holding her, when her body had been thrown through the windshield and was lying on the ground some distance away? Some people in the woman's church think it was an angel holding her spirit; other people think it was God cradling her. The yellow blanket has special significance: those who knew this young woman throughout her life knew that when she was growing up she always had a yellow security blanket with her to comfort her when she felt afraid. God never misses the small details.

My Own Angel StoryCollapse )

I'm sure there are people on this community who have their own angel stories to tell. Please share!

Just a word of caution... [14 Jan 2006|09:56am]

eva_marie
I actually left this note for a friend, and she asked that I pass it on to the whole community...

"Only one word of caution. Be careful to not cross that line into giving glory/attention to the enemy by too much detailed discussion of his exploits. I'm not quite sure how to describe what I mean. Testimony is good and important. Asking questions and giving advice, too. But dwelling or spending too much time of the specifics of the enemies exploits can, without you intending to do this, nonetheless in a sense end up giving too much attention to him. NOT a criticism at all. Just a caution. I've been cautioned in this are before, myself, years ago. And it's always stuck with me."

On the flip side, as she commented back to me, it is always good to talk and lift up and pass on the great things God has done as much as possible - the positive spiritual experiences.

Anyway - just a note of caution.

My experience with spiritual warfare [13 Jan 2006|01:03pm]

fayth1978
Greetings and God bless to all!

My name is Erin and I am 27. I have endured a lot of spiritual warfare in my life, and I have observed friends and loved ones undergoing attacks that defy all natural explanation.

Both my brother and myself were involved in the occult from an early age. My brother did seances and rituals in the basement of our old house, and he invited a demon to come and reside there after being tricked into believing the demon was actually the spirit of a dead 12-year-old boy named Eric. Since then, our old house was the scene of many supernatural occurences. My oldest brother, a born-again Christian, had instances of an unseen force making noises in his bedroom as if all the books were being thrown off the shelves, but when he would look around, he would see nothing and the noise would stop. As soon as he began to drift back into sleep, the noises would begin again, to torment him and keep him from getting a good night's sleep. In two separate instances, both myself and a little girl my mom used to babysit witnessed a 3-dimensional figure of a 12-year-old boy standing in my room, head down, hands clasped in front of him, with his back turned. The little girl my mom babysat saw the figure in the middle of the day. When I saw the figure, it was in the middle of the night and "he" was clearly outlined in the pool of light that shone from the bathroom light into my open bedroom door (as I was afraid to sleep in the pitch dark). I stared at the figure in horror for some seconds and then dove under my covers, shaking with fear. I heard what sounded like a jack-booted army stomping throughout the house, shaking the floors and making a huge racket. However, my parents never awoke. When my father finally got up to use the bathroom, I ran screaming down the hall into my parents' room.

spiritual warfare [13 Jan 2006|09:21am]

danjanboe
Hey all, I have experienced a lot of spiritual warefare in my life. I am a 23 yr old. I have seen big exorcisms done, the kind where you see people arching their backs, people clawing at the cement floor, the kind where their eyes roll back, the kind where their skin gets really pasty white and clammy, the kind where people scream.

I have been in places where books, and other items got thrown across the room, by a spirit.

I have been in places where the lights go on and off by themselves.

I have been in places where the water runs and toilets flush by themselves.

I have been in places where I personally know someone who tried a evil game (Ouiji) boards, then when she took her hands off her friend felt something grab her leg, so she put her hands back on the board and there was a red handprint on her friends leg.

I have experienced dreams where everytime i would step towards I church a voice would tell me "why are you going in there, it isn't going to help you anyway" I have had a time when I woke up from that dream in Physical pain.
Both of my calves on my legs were extremely tight, my lungs felt like they were being sliced open with a knife over and over, and I was being held down, I couldn't move it was like someone was pushing me down.

I have had friends commit suicide.

I have seen both good and bad spirits with my own eyes.

There was a HUGE exorism in Iowa, the state where I live, a long time ago that it is just hard to believe it is true. http://www.bibleprobe.com/1928exorcism.htm

Then on top of all of that, I am about to join a convent in October to be a nun with the Intercessors of the Lamb. One of the things they experience a lot if praying for people under Spiritual warefare almost daily.

Greetings [12 Jan 2006|04:15pm]

andrwfields
This is a really interesting community and I think there will be a lot of great things posted in here.

As for the realm of spirits, I must say that I do believe that ghosts exist. During my first year in college, a few friends (one being a preacher) and I decided to go on a ghost hunt at an old college in our hometown. The things I saw that night were quite frightening.

But that's not the reason for my post. First, I wanted to ask the moderator if it is alright to involve current world events in this community? If that is alright with them (please let the moderator reply first), I would like to see everyone's thoughts on all of this activity in the Holy Land over the past decade. I've heard rumors about somebody wanting to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.

If I could get informed (not ingnorant or offensive) posts back on this, I would appreciate it. I believe, as many do, that we are nearing the end times prophecised by John in Revelations. I am ready for Christ to come for us again, but I wonder if anyone sees the signs as I do?

Welcome [12 Jan 2006|12:10pm]

cha_mel_eon
[ mood | hopeful ]

Welcome to Spiritual Warfare, as you can see, this is a new community.

Alot of people don't believe that there is a spiritual war going on, but we've come to an age now, where we can't really deny that there *is* something out there.

With all these people claiming to see ghosts, with all these people meditating, all these people going to church..

...do you seriously think they're mad?

I don't. I believe they are involved in spiritual warfare, in one way or another.

This community is dedicated to those on the winning side, the side of God.
For those who are confused, for those wanting advice, for those wanting to share experiences. Or for those merely interested in finding out more.

Mel x
